The Team

MCST is beginning its 15th year with the Rocket City Swim League (RCSL). The Mt. Carmel Swim Team was established in 2009 to offer a convenient opportunity for a summer swim team to Mt. Carmel by the River residents and friends and neighbors from surrounding communities. MCST introduces team members to competitive swimming, provides a short term competitive swimming venue, promotes a healthy lifestyle for our community's children and promotes a feeling of community and camaraderie for our area of Huntsville/Madison County.

The team is run and sustained by wonderful, dedicated parent volunteers and coaches. We practice and host home meets at our pool, the Mt. Carmel by the River community pool.

In 2009, we began competition in the "C" league. Based on our swimmer's improvement and performance and improvement in the 2012 RCSL City Meet, the team scored high enough to move up to the "B" league, which is where the team currently stands. After the undefeated 2018 season, the team moved into the "A" league where we remained until 2022. 

As of 2023, our team has 102 swimmers and is comprised of over 60 families.
