    MCST Update 6-21-20

    Good evening Hammerhead Families,

I hope you all had a very pleasant weekend, and all the dads out there had a terrific Father's Day. We steaks and potatoes for lunch so you won't hear any complaints out of me!

We have a very busy week ahead with several special activities going on. Please read the information below carefully to get all the details, and as always please e-mail or call me if there are any questions or clarification needed.

    • Time trials (10& Under) are TOMORROW, Monday, June 22, 6PM. The heat sheet is attached. Swimmer sign-ups are now closed, but if you missed the on-line sign-up and still able to attend, please just show up and notify Coach Whitney - we'll get you entered before the meet starts. It takes a few extra steps to get swimmers entered last-minute which is why we prefer everyone sign up on-line as early as possible. We are still in need of 3 timers and a head timer - please sign up for one of these crucial jobs.
    • IMPORTANT NOTES REGARDING TIME TRIALS:
      • Please arrive a few minutes prior to 6 if possible to get settled and get your swimmers ready for a short warm-up.
      • For parents new to the sport - please see this link about marking your swimmer for meets and this link for reading heat sheets. Also, please reference the parent orientation briefing as needed.
      • Regarding volunteer jobs, please see this list of job descriptions for more information. We will have lots of experienced parents at the pool that can help explain these jobs, which you'll find are not too difficult to learn.
      • Please setup your chairs in the grassy areas outside of the gated pool area adjacent to the pool - we continue to ask that you please continue to maintain social distancing at all times.
      • Prior to the start of each race, the event & heat will be announced and the parents of swimmers in that event/heat will be invited to the pool deck to watch.
      • Following completion of each race, parents are asked to please leave the pool deck area in preparation for the parents of the next race.
      • We will be using the same entrance and exit gates as used during practice.
      • Please do not park on the grass (even just part of your tire) - we are allowed to park on Mt. Carmel Road, the side closest to the pool but at no time are we allowed to park vehicles on the grass. There will be at least one volunteer helping to direct traffic, but if you are unable to park in the parking lot, please plan to park on Mt. Carmel Road, on the side closest to the pool, with your vehicle facing West as if you were leaving the neighborhood.
    • Time trials (11 & Up) are on Wednesday, June 24, 6PM. All notes listed above for Monday's 10 & Under Time Trials also apply to Wednesday's 11 & Up Time Trials.
    • Our team pictures will be this Thursday, June 25, at 6PM. Please wear your team suit or whatever suit you plan to race in. The order form is attached to this e-mail if you would like to fill it out in advance. LaShawn will have hard copy order forms at the pool if you’d rather wait to fill it out there. Note that we will not have a team photo so only individual and family photos are being taken at this time.
    • Our first dual meet – away at Monte Sano on Wednesday, July 1st – is on the schedule now! Please sign up your swimmer and sign up for volunteer jobs if you are planning to attend. There will be more details to follow as we get closer to next week.

Get some good rest tonight for the week ahead. Hoping to see many of you at Time Trials, team pictures, and practice. It's going to be a fun & exciting week!

    Go Hammerheads!!!
